Things You should know before you want to be a hacker

In my career till date, I have meet thousands of people who want to a hacker(some of them are just know how to use the computer & surf the net!!). I really respect the interest, but hate the approach they have towards the learning.

First of all I like to tell you there is nothing called "Ethical Hacking", You just need to be "Ethical" in nature & remember "Great Power Comes With Great Responsibility" .

   

You have to determine what actually you want to learn!!! some tips n tricks to impress your friends & act like a pro or the real 

hacking & penetration testing knowledge. For the 1st one you need a internet connection & hitting google with you weird question. For the 2nd one you have to start a journey, the longer you move the better you are.

As per my experience, bellow things are needed before you start learning the actual hacking.

1) Make your hand dirty with Linux. you have to love it to be a hacker. Windows is a good platform as hackers target but bad one to perform hacking from.

2) Have a clear concept of TCP/IP.

3) Be familiar with at least one server platform. This time you can count on Windows Server Platform too.

4) At least one scripting knowledge (Shell script/Python/Perl).

5) Love to be a student always.

6) Be ready to accept failure, Even the more you fail, more  

    perfect you are.  

7) Find a Geek Guide, Just to make your progress faster.

     But if you are a hardworker & can wait for your success

     You can learn it yourself.

8) Reading Computer Network related book is good but don't 

     expect to learn hacking from a book.

9) Don't try to learn it just because you want your Partner 

   Gmail and FB password. Trusting him/her will save your time 

   & relationship both.

10) After reading all this, if you still found smile on your face.. 

      Congrats!! you can be hacker sooner or later.
